Service Call Wire carries advertising and paid partner content. This page says exactly how we label it, so you never have to work out which is which.
How we label paid partner content
- Firstly, a Partner content label on the article and on every card that links to it.
- Secondly, a disclosure box at the top naming who paid for it, where they have agreed to that.
- Thirdly, no place in the editorial feed or in RSS.
- Finally, outbound links that the software itself sets to
rel="sponsored nofollow", so no editor has to remember and no search engine reads one as an endorsement.
What we accept
Partner content from companies serving the trades — software, equipment, finance, insurance, lead generation, training. Equally, it meets the same accuracy and usefulness bar as editorial: a reader of this publication has to plausibly want to read it.
What we decline
- Anything off-topic for this publication.
- Gambling and casino, adult content, alcohol, tobacco, cannabis and CBD, cryptocurrency speculation, payday and other high-cost lending.
- Earnings, savings or compliance claims we cannot check.
- Adding commercial references to articles we have already published.
- Running commercial material as independent editorial, or dropping the labelling above.
How Service Call Wire pays for itself
Advertising and paid partner content pay for it. We state that because you are entitled to know how a publication funds itself. In addition, the editorial policy covers the separation we keep between the two sides.
